Let me introduce myself. I am Kristin Rodgers – the owner and operator of Doughgirls Catering in Kannapolis, NC. As the saying goes: “I’m not from around here.” I grew up in Whiteville, NC. I graduated from East Carolina University in 1992 and in the summer of 1993, I moved to Cabarrus County where I met my husband Scott Rodgers and we had our four children.
 
Growing up, my mom had a small side catering business with three other ladies. They called themselves “The Doughgirls” and I worked with them often. I mostly worked events as waitress, dishwasher, etc. After teaching school for four years, I decided more time at home with my kids was most important but also needed to help supplement my husband's income. That’s when I decided to introduce Doughgirls to Cabarrus County. Without my mom’s expertise and willingness to guide me every step of the way, this journey would have never been possible!! She is a rockstar and I can’t thank her enough for assisting me along the way.
 
In 1998, the journey began! With no money for advertising and no social media at the time, I had to rely on “word of mouth” and relationships to get me going. One small job would lead to another small job and over time, the jobs got bigger and more frequent. We now operate in a space attached to my home which is fully inspected by the health department. Though social media and the internet is a great advertising tool, word of mouth and building relationships still drives this business. No matter how big or small your event is – it is our goal to prepare quality food with quality ingredients; along with personal and friendly service. We offer a wide variety of homemade food. Enjoy perusing through our menus – we can’t wait to hear from you.
